Artist's Notes: This technically is an illustration of my story We Shine Like Stars "Severus Snape lay like a great, dark stain at the bottom of the stairs. Only his face and the hand beside it shone white against the welter of sprawling robes, fanning black hair, and -- Ginny caught a scent, hanging raw, thick and horrible in the still air, and she grimaced as she realized the surface on which Snape lay was probably not some oddly shaped, shiny sort of carpet." Of course, for the multitudes who did not read that story, this sketch serves to illustrate the main canon text anyhow, if a little offscreen and to the left.

Each of these is meant to be a sort of dovetailed vignette; capable of independent reading, but you'll have a clearer idea of the arc if you go ahead and read them all. Think of them as a long, drawn-out drabble series, really.
