Shopping finds, party whinges, book update, and tarot shilling

And Clue makes her shopping roll yet again!

I found an antique, handmade dresser -- turn of the century, jointed drawers, most likely handmade. At the Goodwill Store. For about $70. It's big enough to hold nearly all my in-progress sewing and beading and knitting and crochet projects, and with a quick pass with the sander, a new coat of varnish, and a new set of knobs, it will be simply stunning. And for the meantime, it's damn sure going to make cleaning for the party easier!

Ouf. The party. Best not to open up that can of worms here. Suffice it to say, I miss the Brownies, and I miss Calleigh House -- the people, not the place, -- and I'm going to do this thing anyway.

In fandom news... Verse Before the Flood is just about done. I'm waiting on only three more pictures, and then I'll be free to finish the thing. That said, if anyone's in the position to help with the outlay costs, or if you need, or know someone who needs a card reading, please steer them this way.

(Sorry, I haven't worked out how to get the google checkout button to work on Dreamwidth or Insanejournal yet. I'll get a page-top floater there as soon as I figure the thing out, I promise.)

Currently, all proceeds from my readings are going directly toward the initial printing costs of the poetry volume. If, by the time I've received the last of the illustrations, and am ready to turn it over to the publishers, I have not raised enough money to advance, then I'll just change horses, and go with Lulu.com instead, so nobody need worry that the book will be totally derailed or anything. Too many people have done too much really stunning work for this not to be released. It's just a question of how, exactly, it will be managed.

So. Shill me if you can, and care to. I could certainly use the help getting the word out. And as for quality and accuracy of readings? I have my spy satellite and information mega-network refreshed and updated daily, the army of paid informants have decided not to strike, and are still on the job, and the subcutaneous receiver behind my ear gets clear signal in all places except the upstairs bathroom, so I can promise I'll be reasonably accurate, and at very least, entertaining.

(Joke.)

However, to that end, if I have ever read for you in the past, and you'd consider writing me a brief testimonial on how I did? I'd appreciate it. I mean, I know I'm good, and folks who know me know I'm good, but over the internet, it takes a bit more selling, knowaddimean?
