Thoughts Contingent on Deservedness Not Mattering.

It's harder than it seems, coming from privation into plenty.

I know, what I'm talking about here is the very worst sort of First World problem, much akin to the woe of not being able to find a decent manicurist, or the local coffee pusher tormenting me by consistently putting too much sugar in, but I can only speak to my world, and this is a part of it.

And anyway, you have control of the back button, don't you! )

And now, for something Completely Different!

[info]saraphina_marie has kindly pointed out that it's National Cleavage Day! And while I'm not actually in South Africa at present, it seems like the world could use a little more harmless cheesecake, and gratuitous self-congratulation. So let this be a call to the breast-bearers of the world -- flaunt 'em if ya got em!

Let's show the ta ta's a little respect, eh? Let's keep it real, ladies!
*Wonders if any men will have the stones to post their man-boobs today...*

Cleavage Day, Represent! )

I see angels and aerials in leather and in chrome, coming down from heaven to carry me home,

Just a little break from writeyness to post this shoutout to a song that's tickling my fancy today.
Reckless Kelly does a bang-up cover of Richard Thompson's 1952 Vincent Black Lightning, and even I, who Does Not Care for country music, am prepared to sweep my hat off to him for it.

So... anybody out there have a copy of Restless Kelly's cover that they'd care to swap me for the Richard Thompson version? Because I've got grabbyhands now, and I don't want to buy the whole album on the strength of one song.

In other news... doesn't this song just CRY OUT for a Potterfilk? "Red Lily said to James, "That's a fine motorbike, and a girl could feel special on the back of suchlike..."
Yeah, I know, too easy, and the male part is far better suited to Sirius, who actually DOES own a Vincent Black Lightning, and probably a 1952 as well, but STILL!
