Just a few thoughtbytes this morning
* Spring seems to have found us again, in between icy, grey, rainy hyuck. It's supposed to be gone tomorrow, but for today, there's sun, 50 degrees, and all the cats are outside sniffing at things, and most likely eating stuff they oughtn't to. It's a lovely thing.
* I bought tulips yesterday. ... no, really. Pink tulips. What the hell is wrong with me? They're beautiful.
* Everybody else has got their copy of Ravens in the Library but me. I am desolate. Luckily, I wouldn't have time to read it right now even if I had it, and, well, it's a benefit book anyhow, and
sooj can use the money, so I don't begrudge her the price, but still... *makes grabbyhands.* Want! Book!
* And on that note, her website dislikes me too. It wouldn't let me download the latest of the Palimpsest song, no matter how much I paid for it. Again, I support the cause, but damn it, I'd like my music when I pay for it! Ehn. At least the money isn't going to support greedy label execs, I suppose.
* I seem to have outraged my right arm sometime over the last weekend-and-a-half. Every tendon along the length of the thing is in 'OWdon'tmovelikethatNOdon'ttouchme!' mode, and it's a solid five degrees colder than the left one -- or, in fact, any part of my body, -- is. I suspect painting molding might be to blame, but I can't swear to it. Could be anything from misalignment of my spine at the top of my shoulders, which, not like THAT ever happens, to atmospheric pressure changes. Or a combination of the above. Who knows!
* Dahnsneyke is on a hunger strike, it seems. The last time I got her to eat was in December, and it's really bugging me now! I mean hell, Anyasneyke's clouding up to shed, and blind as a skillet and SHE still ate yesterday! I cannot figure out what Dahn's problem is, and I'm starting to worry. I've heard it's possible for them to just go into a hybernative state, coming out for briefer and briefer times to check for food, before they finally stop waking up at all, and just die of starvation. And, well, she's been pretty comatose for awhile now. I took her out of the box yesterday to try and stimulate her mentally, and give her some new sights and smells by which to get excited, and while she responded just fine to that, she still wouldn't eat. Dumb snake.
* It looks like we'll be driving out to Boston for an Ikea run this weekend. ($300 delivery fee for four bloody bookcases! Yie!) So if you're free for lunch or an early dinner, please ping one or another of us, and we can try to arrange something. It seems a waste to drive all that way and not hook up with at least ONE of our fleet of Boston friends!
* And with that, I'm going to take my laptop and go outside! The cats aren't the only ones hungry for a little sunshine, thanks!
