And the rhythm of the rails is all they dream
The paste-up phase of Verse Before the Floos is as complete as it can be, barring a few last picture contributors, and the miraculous resurrection of Adobe on my desktop, so I can insert the final fiddlybits.
I am quite chuffed about this, really.
It is almost enough to overcome my intense disappointment with myself over not having managed to kick El Dorado Road into shape in time for
circletpress's Like a Sacred Desire anthology, the submission period for which closed today. *Kicks muse* Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to finish the story -- it's got legs, despite not having got up onto them in response to my tugging, and I'm not going to just leave it lie there in pieces, no matter how tempting it might be to light the damned thing on fire. It'll sell to someone. Just not to Circlet, like I'd hoped.
SO! Back to the poetry volume.
If you sent me artwork, and you read this, expect to hear from me regarding how, exactly, you want your name to appear in the credits and frontmatter. And if you're still working on a piece for me, I'll be nudging you to see how it's coming along. I have a couple little page-filler doodles of my own to get done, so I'll not be exactly pouncing anybody, but just taking a pulse of the project, as it were.
As of right now, it looks like the book is going to be about 65 pages long, once things like section breaks and front matter are included. Not too long, as poetry volumes go, but then I tend more to write songs than epics, so I'm reasonably happy with it.
Now to find a way to restrain my obsessive love of wingdings...
