* Had minor meltdown on Dominus this evening, prompting Wife-Pampering trip to the Pump Station.
* Had good food, comforting talk, and released a lot of stress, generally feeling better about things.
* Got flat tire on the way home.
* Donut bolt rusted solid. Trunk light burnt out.
* Limped to gas station, for a can of Fix A Flat. Rupture in tire so fast, we could hear it over the noise of the air pump.
* Drove one mile before tire deflated again. Stopped at another gas station.
* Air pump at gas station vandalized and useless.
* AAA card not in either wallet.
* Decided to walk the mile and a half home, pick up the truck, flashlight, visegrips and WD40.
* Drove back to car. Forgetting to look for AAA card.
* Destroyed stay-bolt on the donut getting it out.
* Jack rusted in place. Truck jack accessible, but lug wrench seems wrong size for the nuts.
* Pry lug wrench from the jack assembly, and spray it with enough WD40 to burn six more ozone holes, before it begins to work.
* Lug nuts not budging -- lug wrench stripping instead.
* Clue watching three weeks' chiropractic visits going down the drain whilst Dominus grunts and strains against them. Throws in the towel, and asks to go home, and try to find the AAA card.
* Dominus, proving yet again that he is Common Sense Man, agrees.
And here we are. Home again, with the car still at the gas station, lamed. This... was not in the plan. Either for the evening, OR the weekend. Or the bloody year, for that matter! Adding a car payment to the monthly bills was DEFINITELY not in the plan, but tonight's event just reeked of 'okay, subtle hints to replace me aren't working, so I'm going to make more noise until you heed me, or I fall to pieces on the Interstate.' Cobalt is just about DONE. We will have to figure something out, and soon. We can function as a one-car family for the summer, I suppose, though it will not be easily done. The store is within a reasonable biking distance, though it would put a definite crimp on my being able to work anywhere but at home... Ach. No bitching. We'll work it out.
Don't know how, but we will.
Silver lining... um... we got in a nice walk after dinner?
