I'll tell me ma when I've gone home, the boys won't leave the girls alone...

Mmmmrmble. Mf've mr minnitzzzzz... Hizzmmmngh. Whut?

Ok, so yeah, I feel about like well-trodden carpet today. Haven't been able to properly wake up all day, despite early bedtime last night, taking my vits and eating breakfast today, and two cups of coffee. I suspect I'm at war on a microbial level, due to the throaty feeling, and jointy ache, but until this is actually proven out, I'm just going to assume it's a delayed inflammatory reaction to the dust in the environment. Well... and take my vitamins and eat my veggies like a good girl too.

I did managet to overcome inertia and get out to the store today: Mostly good, healthy stuff, and most of it was even fresh, too. Now we just have to get over our aversion to the state of the kitchen, and actually COOK the food before it goes bad. That's the key. I've got cauliflower and brussels sprouts for roasting, broccoli and green beans for steaming, zucchini for pan fry or sauce, and cucumber for just nomming. I've got New Zealand Jazz apples, blood oranges, and black plums and Greek yoghurt to go with, I've got cheeses and peanut butter for baking, and broth and soups and seltzer. I've got tilapia, cold roast chicken and turkey, and the dry goods pantry is reasonably full of cereals, grains, and nuts. There is goddamned FOOD in this house, so no more bloody lazyness about not feeling like cooking, and going out instead, okay?

Okay.

So. No idea what I'm making tonight, but I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

The walls and ceiling downstairs are done. They're sanded flat, and primed white, and all that remains to be done to them involves paint, and then trim molding. Tomorrow, the GC will come and do the preliminary cleanup of the work area, and deliver the flooring material, which has to sit in the house for at least four days before they can begin to work with it, in order to avoid shrinkage or swelling of the boards. Dominus and I will paint this weekend, and next week the flooring will go down. Then the trim work will go up, the final cleaning of the workspace will happen, and THEN... the place will be ours again.

Mind, we still haven't heard 'boo' from Allstate about our personal property claim, so we can't start replacing the furniture and electronics we lost in the flood, but... well, at least we'll no longer be mummified alive in our home. And yeah, that's a good thing. So there's my silver lining of the day, yeah?
Now I'm goin' back to sleep.
Snzzzz....
