It's the end of the world as we know it...

How do you feel?

(Sets up macro to tally all the "Fine." replies...)

So I took the Rental!Kia out today to face the snowpocalypse, (And thank you, [info]matociquala, for coining that lovely term, by the way,) and it will surprise nobody at all to learn that the little bitch tried several times to kill me. For those of you who live where it can snow; never EVER buy one of these. I had to purposefully run into a snow berm just to stop the car from trying to rear-mount a 92 Chrysler at a traffic light on a very gentle downslope. The brakes lock up and stutter at the slightest tap, the 'sport transmission' is not sporting at all, the car is too light to get traction even on a level road, and every time the wheels start to skid -- which they do pretty constantly when there's snow in any amount on the road, -- there's a yellow ESC light on the dash which flashes at me as though it's in a full-froth panic, and about to burst into flames. There were some corners where the softish snow had built up around the turning plows, where I seriously thought I was going to have to get out of the car and PUSH the damned thing through by hand!

I didn't though; didn't want to end up being one of those videos on Failblog.org. You know which ones.

I want my gorramn Saturn VUE back! NOW! *Huffs*

In better news, Professor Java's Coffee Sanctuary continues in its tradition of awesomeness. Matty made me the best EVAR raspberry mocha -- smooth, tangy, tough, and just sweet enough without inducing insulin shock. It looks as though [info]silentauror might actually get on a plane back from DC today, so I might be able to get her to her bus in time after all -- a thing I'd seriously worried about when I read the weather report today. And, while my right arm feels as though it's being chewed off by rabid voles, it appears not to be, actually. Which is a good thing, since I'm not quite ambidextrous enough to do things like paint with my left, and I've got two commissions outstanding.

So what's going well in YOUR lives then?
