juliefortune has drawn my attention to the fact that, were she still with us, January 12th would be ter396's birthday. She suggested that an incredibly appropriate memoria would be a day of fic in Ter's name, and I couldn't agree more. Ter was an enthusiastic reader, and a wonderful feedback artist. I genuinely can thank her personally for having given me the confidence in my storytelling that allowed me to file a point onto Tempus Fugitive, and decide I could do it for *real*, instead of just for RPG. In a way, she was my second book's Fairy Godmother, and I never got to thank her for that in any way that could feel adequate to me.

So I'll keep her day, instead.

In honor of Ter, I invite you to Ter's Birthday Fic Party. Ter's favorite fandom was HP, so I'll be writing a Harry Potter fanfic in honor of the occasion, which I'll post next Monday.

I encourage those of you who knew (and no doubt loved) Ter to join me. Let's celebrate the way Ter would have liked ... with great stories. It will make her smile down from heaven.

(In other news, I'm being stalked by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Which, all things being equal, is FAR from the worst band by whom one could be stalked, really. Only I'm reasonably sure that if I play Papa Won't Leave You, Henry one more time, Dominus might just bury me in the backyard, and justly claim I had it coming.)
